The Issues
Leslie is driven by a belief in service. As your Councilwoman, Leslie will be your first call when dealing with local issues from roads to flooding to garbage.
Leslie is committed to finding solutions to help make government work for you and improving our quality life on James Island and across the City of Charleston.
Roads and Infrastructure
Leslie is committed to making our roads as safe and efficient as possible. From building sidewalks to crosswalks to fixing street lights to finding the best mechanisms to ease traffic, Leslie understands the need to move you across James Island and the city in a better and safer way. We know that residents are tired of sitting in traffic, and Leslie is committed to working with all stakeholders to drive action.
Flooding
As Charleston experiences more and more tidal flooding, Leslie is equipped to bring her experience in sustainability and government to advocate for your needs. Whether it is investing in immediate flooding solutions to move water more quickly, or investing in nature based solutions to create more public access to green spaces, Leslie has the experience and knowledge to make sure that our day-to-day lives are not negatively impacted by flooding.
Quality of Life and Preserving Charleston for Generations to Come
City Council is about working together to fix today’s problems, but also preparing for tomorrow’s challenges. It takes thoughtful, innovative leadership to look ahead to the next 30-years to find the right balance between preserving our natural resources and growth. We need thoughtful and comprehensive planning to preserve and improve that quality of life. Leslie is committed to working with all parties to find ways to ensure that we can preserve this beautiful place that we call home for our kids and generations to come.
