The Issues

Leslie is driven by a belief in service. Leslie believes that City Council should be your first call when dealing with local issues from roads to flooding to garbage. Leslie is currently the Chair of ReThink Folly Road, and serves on the City’s Committees on: Traffic and Transportation, Public Works, Recreation and HR.

Leslie is committed to finding solutions to help make local government work for you and improve our quality of life on James Island while protecting Charleston for generations to come. Whether it’s improving roads, preventing flooding, protecting our green spaces or preventing irresponsible development, Leslie will be your family’s voice and get it done.

Roads and Infrastructure

Leslie is committed to making our roads as safe and efficient as possible. From building sidewalks to crosswalks to fixing street lights and easing traffic, Leslie understands the need to move you across James Island and the city in a better and safer way. We know that our neighbors are tired of sitting in traffic, and Leslie works with all municipalities and stakeholders to effectively drive action and deliver results. As the Chair of ReThink Folly Road and a member of the City’s Traffic and Transportation Committee, Leslie works across municipalities to deliver solutions.

Flooding

As Charleston experiences more and more flooding, Leslie is equipped to bring her experience in sustainability and government to advocate for your needs. Whether it is investing in immediate flooding solutions to clear drains and culverts, or prioritizing nature based solutions, Leslie works tirelessly to make sure our lives are not negatively impacted by flooding. She is a staunch advocate of getting the funding James Island needs to address our short-term and long-term needs to protect our homes, businesses and community on James Island. Leslie serves on the City’s Public Works Committee to bring much needed attention to James Island issues.

Quality of Life: Protecting Charleston for Generations to Come

City Council is about working together to effectively fix today’s problems, but also preparing for tomorrow’s challenges. It takes thoughtful, innovative and effective leadership to look ahead to the next 30-years and find the right balance between preserving our natural resources and growth. Leslie brings thoughtful and comprehensive planning to preserve and improve that quality of life, and stop irresponsible development. Leslie is committed to working with all parties to find ways to ensure that we can preserve this beautiful place that we call home for our kids and generations to come. Leslie serves on the City’s Recreation Committee to ensure our spaces to play are safe and up to date.
